Why would a moron put up data that pretty much conclude that there were better GDP growth rate under the PNP? Before 2008, there was at least three straight years of positive GDP growth, while 2008 – 2011 the growth rate became negative on the JLP leadership. Ironically, it was the Minister of Finance who predicted that the global recession would have zero impact on the Jamaican economy.
So, 3 out of the 4 years that the JLP was in office , Jamaica experienced negative growth in GDP.
2005 – +1.8 – PNP
2006 – +2.3 – PNP
2007 – +1.2 – PNP (JLP elected in September, 2007)
2008 – -0.6 – JLP
2009 – -2.8 – JLP
2010 – -1.1 – JLP
2011 – +1.5 – JLP (Election were held at the end of 2011)
2012 – +0.1 – PNP
2013 – +0.4 – PNP
Calm down. Forecasting allows data manipulation. The public debt is nearly 130% of gdp and there is no question that the numbers were fudged for imf purpose.
The IMF was re-engaged by the JLP after they took office in 2007, after being sidelined for many years by the PNP. So why the need to fudge GDP growth rate before 2007? Basically, you are saying that the 1.5% in 2011 was not a real growth rate then? Do you even know what forecasting is? You put up numbers and then claim the positive in a single year and when discredited, you want to backstep and claim numbers were fudged. Yuh really foo-fool bad-bad!!!
