A woman and her daughter were shot dead by unknown assailants in their community of Phoenix Park, Dunbeholden in St Catherine last night.
Dead is Janett Moore, 53, a businesswoman and her daughter 19-year-old Tajona Rhoden.
The Portmore police reported that they were summoned to the area about 10:10 pm after residents heard explosions.
On their arrival both Moore and Rhoden were seen on the ground in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds.
They were both taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
Investigations continue.
