POLICE FOUND DEAD IN PORTMORE…WIFE AND MATE AT THE SCENE

THE Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) was last night in mourning after the body of one of its members was found inside his Portmore, St Catherine, home.

The constable, identified as 40-year-old Kevin Thompson of Six East in Greater Portmore, was stationed in St Thomas.

Up to news times last night the communication arm of the JCF was unable to provide details on the incident.

However, Thompson’s distraught female companion, who had realised something was amiss, told the Jamaica Observer that he was complaining of chest pain when she last saw him alive on Saturday evening.

The woman said that she had gone to the policeman’s home to check on him Sunday but did not get an answer when she knocked and she assumed that he had gone to work, so she left the premises.

However, she said when she went back yesterday evening and did not get a response when she knocked on the the front door, she went to the back of the house and saw flies on the window.

The police summoned, she said, who then forced the door open and found Thompson dead inside the house.

Thompson’s wife, who rushed to scene last night, was too distraught to speak.

One of Thompson’s colleagues, who said he knew the deceased for more than 21 years, described him as a “nice, nice person.

Investigations into the policeman’s death are being carried out by the St Catherine South Police Division.

  1. It would be a pity if this is the circumstances the wife n mate is making acquaintances smh.In any event the wife should demand answers from the mate since she was the last person to see him alive.R.i.p officer and condolences to your loved ones.

Investigators please pressure the matey especially but ask questions of the wife too.

  2. May he rest peacefully but I had to read the article more than once and wonder if the author made mistake.

  3. The “wife” obviously didn’t live with him. More than likely estranged. That’s why the “companion” could have gone to his house to “check on him”. Goodly the two a dem plan it! People people! When unu feel sick find the four grand and go docta. It can save unu life

  4. He was having chest pains and didn’t seek medical attention? Especially as a 40 year old. RIP to him, however head pain and chest pain are never to be ignored! Gwaan up a UWI go get a ECG! Live saving!

    1. THAT IS NOT TRUE. THEY WERE SEPARATED FOR MONTHS PROBABLY YEARS NOW. THEY HAVE A CHILD TOGETHER AND THAT IS THE ONLY REASON FOR COMMUNICATION. THEY WE NOT IN NO WAY SHAPE AND FORM TOGETHER FOR HER TO MASH UP ANYTHING.
