Foundation That Endures All
“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor. 3:11
“Foundation” basically means “an underlying natural or prepared base or support; especially, the masonry substructure of a building; or a body or ground upon which something is built up or overlaid.” In scriptural terms, it refers to the base upon which ones entire life is sustained. So, it is vital to ask yourself; what is the foundation of your life? The answer must refer to something other than your efforts or self-help, because you are not the originator of your life; and you are never in absolute control of the circumstances of your life, are you? What then is the foundation of your life?
Similar to the matter of faith, there are many foundations on which you can build up your life. Do you build your life on the heathen gods and altars your father and his ancestors served? Yes, you cannot help the foundation on which you were born but God allows you the direct responsibility to choose the foundation on which to build up your life; it is an individual responsibility. Joshua confronted the children of Israel with a similar question: “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)
The pressures of life often urge us to ascertain what future holds in stock? No man is excluded from this pressure, even those in the church. To what do you resort when you feel this pressure? That tells the foundation you uphold. Some seek divination in some ways or the other. Some depend on self-efforts, What about you? Our scripture this morning tells us the right and fulfilling foundation that sustains our lives: “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Prayer:
I break free from every evil foundation, worthless foundation and evil altars in Jesus name
In the name of Jesus, May I not die due to errors not corrected by my fathers.
In the name of Jesus, I reject every foundation that seeks to control my destiny; I stand firm on the foundation of Jesus Christ laid before the world began.
Amen.
