Mavado’s son being questioned in relation to murder
Homicide detectives are now questioning the 17 year old son of dancehall entertainer Mavado, about a recent murder in Cassava Piece, St. Andrew.
A man was fatally shot and his body set ablaze during an upsurge in violence in the community two weeks ago.
Investigators began questioning the teenager on Tuesday, and resumed the interrogation Wednesday afternoon.
The juvenile was picked up more than a week ago along with four other suspects.
The other suspects were released on the weekend.
Gunmen have been engaging in shootouts in the area since Mavado was fired at two weeks ago.
Investigators want to question Mavado about the violence, but he left the island and is now in the US where he is a resident.
