Man charged with Peter Abrahams’s death gets seven years in prison

Norman Tomlinson, the man charged with the murder of author and former Radio Jamaica Chairman Peter Abrahams, has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

This follows his guilty plea to manslaughter last month.

Tomlinson was charged with murder in February last year.

Mr. Abrahams, who was 97 years old, was found dead at his St. Andrew home in January.

It was reported that Mr. Tomlinson visited Mr. Abrahams and there was a dispute.

He then beat him to death.

  1. Disgraceful injustice!!!He beat him to death, how is that Manslaughter!!??Our judicial system urgently needs a overhaul especially the Judges….yuh see all di Judith Pusey she!!!

  2. This is a travesty?! Was the prosecution that desperate for a guilty plea that they agreed to manslaughter and not murder? Madam DPP, the public already has little faith in your office and right now you are making it worse. Another thing, the judges do not HAVE to reduce the sentence by 50% when the accused plead guilty. They have the discretion to reduce it by a smaller amount and they need to start using that discretion. This was an open and shut case! Now this criminal will be out in 5 years.
