YOU ARE BLESSED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 9:3 – 4
Sometimes, it is tough to imagine what a typical day in the life of Jesus was like for the three years that his earthly ministry lasted. No day went by without miracles and the resentment of the religious people who felt their doctrines were being challenge by the power of the gospel that Jesus preached and manifested. One very dramatic encounter was that of the blind man who was healed after Jesus spat on some dust and rubbed it on his eyes. The man who was born blind was good teaching material for the people who always sited him as an example of the consequences of the sins of the fathers. His disciples must have been part of those who argued because that was the first question they asked Jesus the moment they came across the blind man. When the man’s neighbours saw him they were surprised and took him to the Pharisees who simply declare that Jesus was not a prophet because He healed a man on the Sabbath. They did all they could to change the man’s testimony but in spite of the threats and intimidation the man remain steadfast.
That was not the first time that they fought Jesus for healing the sick on the Sabbath. In the case of the man at the pool of Bethesda, the Pharisees made concrete plans to kill Jesus. In spite of such life threatening persecution, Jesus continued teaching and working miracles. He did not give up. At Gethsemane, the mental torture leading to His arrest and death on the cross was so much that He sweated blood but He remained faithful to His mission to die for the salvation of mankind. The truth is that if you ever have the opportunity to make a true difference, you should not complain about the effort involved. Jesus did not complain about the effort involved in saving mankind and we should learn from that; People complain about the work they have to do in their various departments in church, complain about periods of fasting and prayer, and complain about their financial obligations to the building of the kingdom. That is an evil attitude. Do not be an antagonist where good things are happening.
Liberation thought: I am blessed to be a blessing to others
