A section of August Town in St. Andrew remains tense after thugs shot two men in the community on Monday night.
One of the men succumbed to his injuries.
The other man has been hospitalised.
The deceased has been identified as 29 year old construction worker Christopher Hayles, a resident of August Town.
The incident occurred about 8 o’clock.
It is reported that both men were standing on the road when they were shot.
There is a heavy police presence in August Town to prevent a further flare up of violence.
Fayval Williams, Member of Parliament for St. Andrew Eastern, in which the community is located, told RJR News that the incident is said to be a reprisal for a murder in the community three weeks ago.
Ms Williams was in the community to visit the family of the deceased.
