A British man was arrested and charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James yesterday.
He is 31-year-old Tracyston Mallory.
Reports are that about 2:00 pm, Mallory was at the security checkpoint to board a flight destined to Brussels, Belguim when his luggage was searched and 37 parcels of cocaine weighing 1.18 kg was reportedly found concealed in a false compartment.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.
The drug has an estimated street value of $2 million.
He is scheduled to appear in the St James Parish Court on Friday.
