THE St Mary police are urging people to be on the look out for counterfeit notes that are being circulated in the parish.
The Oracabessa Police said that in recent weeks criminals have targeted several businesses in the area, issuing counterfeit $500 and $1,000 notes to unsuspecting business operators.
The $1,000 counterfeit notes, the police disclosed, carry the serial numbers AU272652, XS520291, VS387084, VS938855, WN732507, AA254116, AJ061162, YC575099, VW603883, and YS360903.
The $500 notes, meanwhile, have the serial numbers XF144714, YF378289, and XX280527.
“The Police are appealing to persons with information that can lead to the apprehension of these persons to contact the Fraud Squad at 948-5906, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station,” the police urged on Thursday.
