DEM REALLY A USE HOLNESS NAME FI SCAM?

The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) says social media specialists have detected a number of fake Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts seeking to solicit money from people using Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ name and image.

In a statement posted on Holness’ social media pages today, the OPM said the matter has been reported to the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) as well as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Press Secretary at the OPM, Naomi Francis said: “This is a very serious matter and the OPM is urging persons to be careful. No page associated with the prime minister on social media solicits money. Prime Minister Holness has only one official account on Facebook, one on Instagram and one on Twitter. These accounts have been in operation for several years”.

The OPM also noted that the official social media accounts belonging to Holness bear the handle ‘AndrewHolnessJM’.
