Residents of Mitchell Town, Clarendon are seeking answers following the murder of an 82 year old member of the community, allegedly at the hands of his 23 year old grandson.
The elderly man has been identified as James Morgan.
Mr. Morgan’s body, which had what appeared to be chop wounds, was found Monday night in a pit at the back of a house.
It was removed Tuesday morning by the Jamaica Fire Brigade.
Jacqueline Harris, the daughter of the deceased, said her nephew told other family members that he had killed his grandfather.
She said the family has been left baffled by the incident as the grandson had always been kind and compassionate to the elderly man.
She said two of her sisters had to be hospitalised after learning about the incident.
The grandson has been taken into police custody.

This little yute was a humble, easy person. Him never was a person of his right mind to ever do this. Rugu who is the grandson by nickname love his grandfather and loved his family. He last year stumbled to a head injury where he was hit in his head with about 18 sticthes last year summer which affected him in many different ways and its what caused may cause the issue because hes sick and outminded.
