Heavy D severs ties with Gully Bop, recommends rehab

After opening the first major platform to Gully Bop at Sting 2014 in an effort to solidify the viral sensation as a true recording artiste and performer, Heavy-D Promotions has severed all ties.

In a media release, Heavy-D Promotions sought to explain the decision.

“Gully Bop is out of control and is making it impossible to work with. He is not listening to me, Chin or anybody else. He does not want any agent fees or expenses to be deducted from income received,” Promoter Heavy D stated.

“Bop doesn’t understand the business at all and believes that whatever he makes is for him, his woman and to give away to poor people in the street. How the bills are gonna be paid then? There are expenses for every tour,” Heavy D added.

Heavy-D continued to explain that he has to be working overtime to cover seriously damaging statements and actions by the artiste.

“He must cease and desist from making all damaging remarks. We collect only 20% as agreed for bookings and management. Legal action will be taken to ensure that this behavior does not continue,” he said adding that he recommends that Gully Bop seeks professional help.

“I wish nothing but the best for Bop. I try my best to help him and resolve all issues, but it seems to make no sense. Sometimes I feel like we have another Whitney Houston case on our hands. Bop needs rehab and this is no joke.”

Heavy-D Promotions would like to assure all promoters and the public that all engagements that they booked for Gully Bop should be honored by the artiste as all deposits have already been paid over to his fiancée, Miss Shauna Chin.

“Every show we book we take our agent fees and pay over the balance to Chin so all shows should be still on. She is also in a very sticky position, but I understand that she have to stand beside him cause they live together right now.”

  3. Not everybody wants to pay commission. Some ppl refuse to get a work through an agency cause dem claims di agency a teck di money they would make, same suh some folks nuh believe dem fi pay dem agent commission for landing gigs. The entertainment industry set up dat way, if you plan fi go een u haffi plan fi give your commission out your jobs. You don’t get to set the commission rate, the agents does. You can always shop around, but the most expensive agents usually are the ones who are most connected and can get the good gigs.

  4. It just so happens dat mi did a listen to Ragga yesterday while di whole ting a play out pon di air.
Management was basically saying Bop is out of control and really don’t understand di business or maths. Based on what management was saying their contractual agreement was 20%. So if they charged $100 fi a show dem fi get $20 after all is said and done. Management require 50% up front. so when dem get di $50 (half) dem tek dem 20%=$10 and when dem get di next $50 @ the show dem tek dem 20% from dat=$10. Bop insists sey dem a tek 40% and a rob him.
Bop still never explain how dem rob him when he got to tell his side him just a sey him nuh waan nobody mek nuh money affa him.

Management was basically saying that Bop is out of control and really don’t understand di business or MATHS.
Management claims that their contractual agreement was 20% of the proceeds. So if they charged $100 fi a show dem fi get $20 after all is said and done. Dem require 1/2 upfront so when dem get di $50 dem tek dem 20% = $10 and when dem get di next $50 @ the show dem tek dem 20% from dat==$10. Bop insists sey a 40% dem a tek (20% + 20%) and a rob him.
Bop still never provide any example or reason why him feel like dem a ro him when him call into di show, him just keep saying him nuh waan nobody mek nuh money affa him because dem neva deh deh when him buss and him a nuh ediot.
