The Jamaican female quarter-milers showed their prowess as a team in the 4x400m relay to claim Jamaica’s seventh gold medal at the 15th IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.

The quartet of Shericka Jackson, Christine Day, Stephenie Ann McPherson, and Novlene Williams-Mills had finished third, fourth, fifth, and sixth in the 400m, respectively – and together the team clocked a world-leading 3:19.13 to cross the line ahead of the American team.

Jamaican champion Day led off to the 400m bronze medallist Jackson to 2014 Commonwealth champion McPherson with 2014 Diamond Race winner Williams-Mills on the anchor leg, for a brilliantly executed race.

American clocked 3:19.44 for second and were by Great Britain and NortherinIreland in third. They stopped the clock at season’s best 3:23.62.
