JAMAICAN INVOLVED IN MASSIVE HEROINE HAUL

A 37-year-old Jamaican man appeared in Magistrates’ Court in Bermuda today, accused of smuggling US$647,000 worth of heroin into the island earlier in the week.

Omar Davy was charged with importing the drug and possessing it with the intent to supply.

He is alleged to have imported 220.88 grams of the drug after being detained at Bermuda’s L F Wade International Airport on Tuesday.

Davy was not required to enter a plea because the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

He was remanded in custody for a further appearance next Monday.
