JAMAICAN WANTED IN BERMUDA

Jailbreak

46-year-old Jamaican man has become the first person to be named on a wanted poster on the Department of Immigration’s web page in a new crackdown.

Robert George McFarlane is believed to be living in Bermuda illegally, according to the department.

The poster says anybody with information on his whereabouts should contact the department, warning that it is an offence to harbour an illegal immigrant.

Last month, Home Affairs Minister Michael Fahy announced that online wanted posters could soon be introduced to locate those in Bermuda illegally.

“The Department of Immigration is searching for at least one foreign national who is in Bermuda illegally. To this end, the department will be seeking the general public’s assistance,” Fahy told legislators.

He said posters would appear on the Department of Immigration web site, usually when other avenues to find the suspects had been exhausted.

  1. Oh please, you can around Bermuda in no time from Somerset to Hamilton and back. It’s one way in and one way out so this wanted poster is so overkill. Bermudians have never liked Jamaicans. When I was younger and use to spend summers there with my family, the highest diss would be “you stink like 10 Jamaicans”.
