Several police investigators are now at Scotiabank Oxford Road Branch after a break-in earlier this morning.
One man was reportedly held after he was found hiding in the ceiling.
According to Scotiabank’s director of corporate security Denver Frater, the break-in occurred around 4 a.m.
He said the security systems detected the breach and a team of private security guards, supported by the police responded.
Frater said on their arrival, two television sets and fan were found outside the bank.
It is not yet clear how the man entered the bank.
Frater said a review of the closed circuit footage identified one man.
He also said the incident will not affect operations at the bank.
“Scotiabank continues to invest in technologies for the security of our customers and properties,” said Frater, a retired assistant Commissioner of Police.
