MAN SUSPECTED OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING WANTS TO BE RELEASED

Lawyers representing a man suspected to be involved in human trafficking following last week’s operation in Portmore, St. Catherine, have filed a writ demanding his release.

Two 15 year old girls were allegedly found in his company at a property along the Port Henderson Road, popularly known as Back Road.

One of the girls had been reported missing in St. Ann.

Investigators are probing whether the teenagers are victims of human trafficking.

However, it is understood that the cops are experiencing difficulty gathering evidence against the suspect.

The teenagers reportedly told investigators that they met the man on social media who promised them summer jobs.

Last week’s operation was carried out as part of a crackdown on prostitution and other illegal activities along Back Road.
