Soldier shot during altercation in Manchester dies

The soldier who was shot in the head during an altercation at a car mart in Manchester on Friday night has died.

He has been identified as Gabe Reid.

His rank is not known at this time.

Mr. Reid died at the University Hospital of the West Indies Sunday morning.

It was reported that sometime after 9 o’clock, the soldier, who is the co-owner of a car mart located at the corner of McKinley Road and Winston Jones Highway, got into an argument with several persons at the establishment.

During the confrontation, they reportedly opened gunfire at him and he ran.

The soldier was later found with bullet wounds in bushes.
