STEPHEN MARLEY WILL BE AT SUMFEST

The organisers of Reggae Sumfest have announced that the already star-studded special 25th anniversary line-up will now include Stephen Marley, son of reggae superstar Bob Marley.

Stephen will be performing on Saturday, July 22, the final night of the festival, which opens on July 16.

The eight-time Grammy Award winning artiste/producer, who also goes by the moniker ‘Raggamuffin’, is best known for singles such as ‘Hey Baby’, ‘Rock Stone’ featuring Capleton and Sizzla and more recently, ‘Options’, a collaborative effort with Latin artist Pitbull who is currently on the Billboard Dance Chart.

This latest addition to Sumfest, Jamaica’s largest and longest running reggae festival, represents the first performance by a Marley since Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley took the stage in 2013.

Reggae Sumfest runs July 16-22.

CEO of Downsound Entertainment, Joe Bogdanovich, has welcomed the inclusion of Marley to the line-up.

“The legacy of Bob Marley, and what he represents, is important to not only Jamaican music and culture, but also Sumfest specifically. Because of this it is only fitting that, on the 25th anniversary, Stephen, who has both carried on his father’s legacy and forged a successful path for himself in reggae, will perform on the final night of the festival,”Bogdanovich said.
