Parent in custody for assaulting teacher at Dunfries Primary School
The parent who physically assaulted a teacher at Dumfries Primary School in St James last Thursday is in police custody.
The teacher received injuries to her face and was hospitalised for two days.
It was reported that the parent was upset that his child’s book had not been marked by her class teacher.
On the day in question, the class teacher was absent and the teacher, who was attacked, was substituting.
The incident followed another at Cornwall College, leading the Jamaica Teachers’ Association to warn that its members have become fed up with being physically assaulted on the job.
