TAX WORKER’S DEATH ACCIDENTAL

Unconfirmed reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that the death of the female worker from the Mandeville Tax Office this morning was accidental.

However efforts to get official confirmation from the police have so far failed.

A source said the woman, whose name is being withheld, was getting ready to go to work along with her common-law husband when the incident happened.

According to the report, the woman picked up her partner’s licensed firearm to give it to him and accidentally triggered the weapon. A lone bullet hit her under the armpit. She was pronounced dead at hospital.

Her common-law husband is reportedly being interviewed by the police.

Meanwhile, The Tax Administration of Jamaica (TAJ) is advising that the office is closed for business today to facilitate grief counselling for staff at the location following the woman’s death.

The TAJ is advising taxpayers that they may conduct their usual transactions at the Christiana, Santa Cruz or May Pen tax offices, and that they will be advised through the media of the resumption of services at the location.

  1. Really………accidental huh…..I thought all firearms are kept in a safe when not being used…..and each firearm is issued with strict stipulation being made clear and secondly why was she handling his firearm it is not and never will be a toy….the sole purpose of having a gun is to kill so it should have been kept out of an untrained persons hands…….

    1. “I thought all firearms are kept in a safe when not being used”..this is Jamaica not Greenwich CT.

  2. I agree “don’t care” but sometimes the rules aren’t practical. Most persons sleep with their fire arms ready and close by. It’s possible because if he wanted to kill her he would have aimed at her head or chest area. Remember he is trained, never heard of anyone being shot under the arm pit. Plus they can tell based on how much gun powder is on her hands if is she triggered it.

    1. Why, why, why. People always ask the stupid why question after it is bad.

Not all guns have safety and most people carry one in the chamber because if you are pounced upon u may not have the time to place one in the chamber and you end up dead.

      Firearm lesson 101

      1. The question to ask is ” why wasnt she taught how to handle a firearm by her common law husband who is a licensed holder?”

By the way, a baby cant pull a trigger so was she squeezing the trigger when she was handing him the gun and why was the gun pointing at her when she handing it to him?(based on the fact that it shot her under her armpit)

  3. But how dem come to the conclusion already that it is accidental? Hope this is the media deduction and not the police. I think the Jamaican police investigators are lazy or simply not trained in forensics. That is our biggest downfall.

  4. This smell like shit. The proper thing was to teach her how to handle a firearm since she is around it and willing to pick it up to give him. I believe we will hear the full hundred. Under armpit leads me to believe they were scuffling and it go off. For her to be hit there she would have had to pick up the weapon muzzle pointing at her and finger on the trigger which unless you completely clueless wouldn’t do. It smell fishy
