Mavado’s 16-y-o son slapped with murder, gun charges
The police have reported that the 16-year-old son of deejay Mavado has been charged by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) with the June 5 murder of Lorenzo Thomas o/c ‘Chulups’ and ‘Israel’ in Cassava Piece, St Andrew.
The juvenile has been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, arson, shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition
An adult suspect who was also held in connection with Thomas’ killing is reportedly still in custody but the police say his details will be released pending further investigations.
According to reports from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit, Thomas, a 24-year-old labourer was killed by men who kicked open the door to his home about 3:30 am armed with firearms, machetes and gasoline.
The men reportedly fired multiple gunshots at Thomas before inflicting several chop wounds then set him afire.
