The Siege is Over!
“Hear this message from the Lord! This is what the Lord says: By this time tomorrow in the markets of Samaria, five quarts of fine flour will cost only half an ounce of silver,* and ten quarts of barley grain will cost only half an ounce of silver.* ” (2Kings 7:1)
King Ben-hadad of Aram mobilized his entire army and set up a barricade around the city of Samaria, crippling socio-economic activities. Things were so bad it was hard getting food to eat. As the king of Samaria was walking along the wall of the city, a woman called to him for help because she had on the previous day cooked her son for a meal with her female friend who was now refusing to kill her own son so they could eat! Abomination! When the king heard this, he tore his clothes in despair and put on sackcloth and swore: “May God kill me if I don’t execute Elisha son of Shaphat this very day,”
The king of Samaria knew where to order for a miracle and he placed his order with executive fiat. Elisha quickly prophesied a change that was enforced by four lepers at the entrance of the city who decided to go and surrender to the Arameans. But as they went, “the Lord had caused the whole army of Aram to hear the clatter of speeding chariots and the galloping of horses and the sounds of a great army approaching. “The king of Israel has hired the Hittites and Egyptians to attack us!” they cried out. So they panicked and fled into the night, abandoning their tents, horses, donkeys, and everything else, and they fled for their lives.” The siege was over and Elisha’s prophesy had come to pass.
I prophesy as that every evil army that has blocked your blessings will hear terrible sounds that will make them to abandon your blessings and flee, in the mighty name of Jesus! The siege on your life is over!
