Woman held up at St Andrew Prep, attacker shot
Chaos erupted this morning at the St Andrew Preparatory School after a woman was reportedly held up at gunpoint at the school gate.
Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that the woman was dropping off her child about 8:20am when the gunman struck.
It is said that a licensed firearm holder, who was on the scene, fired several rounds hitting the attacker but he escaped.
When contacted, an unidentified school official confirmed the incident but refused to provide further details.
She however told OBSERVER ONLINE that end-of-term exams have been put off and parents are being urged to pick up their children by 12:00 noon.
The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force said the police are aware of an incident at the school but have not received an official report.
Lawmen are said to be on the scene.
