WORK FOR GOD
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1Corinthians 15:54 -58
The greatest work on earth is work that is done in the house of the Lord. Some people may take pride in the fact that they work in multi-national companies or banks. The kind of work you do has even become a status symbol in our society; people are identified and respected for the kind of work they do. Thus, parents begin to prepare their children by giving them the best education that will make them eligible for employment in reputable organisations. But not many parents are like Hannah who vowed to give back to God the child she believed Him for.
Today, parents still fear and stop their children from being fully involved in the ministry because the rewards are not as obvious as the fat salary that corporate organisations pay their workers at the end of every month or the profits people in business make. This is a sad misunderstanding. The God who declared through his apostle that the labourer is worthy of his hire is not irresponsible. God is the greatest pay master, His resources are unlimited. The gold and silver belong to God. No body works for God without receiving a due reward.
You might be one of those who have been called into the ministry and you are yet to answer the call because you do not want to quit your job or leave your business. You are making a big mistake. Or you have been called to full time ministry and you are still dividing your time and energy between your job and the work of the ministry; you are also making a big mistake. The Creator who wasn’t created is the one providing for your needs; not your job or business. The God who created in you the ability to work or do business is reminding you today to stand firm and fully commit yourself to the work He has called you to do.
Liberation thought: I will serve God with all my heart, mind and strength.
