A man in Entokozweni, Mpumalanga has been left in shock after his property was allegedly damaged by his girlfriend, who reportedly ran away after finding out that the police were after her.
Kanyamazane police spokesperson Warrant Officer Andries Skwambane said the lovers were not staying together, as she apparently ran away following an argument last Saturday. Police began searching for her after the boyfriend opened a criminal charge against her.
“It seems like it will cost a fortune to recover all the damaged materials. She also damaged his car,” said an anonymous source.
Skwambane urged partners to solve their differences amicably, as destroying of one’s property would not solve their problems.
“Fighting and vandalising of properties is not the right way to solve a problems, hence it makes the problem to become more extreme since you might get arrested, and it might cost thousands to fix the damaged property,” Skwambane said.
Last month, a 36-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death in the presence of police officers following an argument in Tembisa, on the East Rand.
Tembisa police spokesperson Constable Zukiswa Mgijim said police officers were summoned to the couple’s residence in Vusimuzi Section prior to the man’s death.
“On arrival, officers found the couple in a heated argument. Police tried to resolve the matter between the two. Suddenly, the woman grabbed a sharp object and stabbed her boyfriend in the upper body,” Mgijim added.
She said paramedics arrived on the scene, and the unidentified man was certified dead.
