A naughty Harare woman suffered severe injuries after she was caught red-handed by her husband in a compromising position with a boyfriend at her sister’s house.
The two were reportedly using the place as their love nest, a court heard.
It was the third time in which the lovebirds were caught red-handed.
Zvikomborero Nyamakura (43), could not stomach the encounter and gave his wife Christine Mafunga and her lover Mutizwa Chikore a thorough hiding, which left the lovebirds badly injured.
Mafunga, lost three teeth, while Chikore lost a chunk of flesh from his cheek after he was bitten by the enraged husband.
The two lovebirds later reported Nyamakura to the police and he now faces assault charges.
In court, Chikore admitted to having an affair with Mafunga, but said the woman had lied to him that she had separated with Nyamakura.
Nyamakura disputed Chikore’s submissions arguing that Chikore fully knew that Mafunga was a married woman.
He told the court that he was still living with Mafunga at the same house as husband and wife.
The matter was remanded to May 29 for judgment.
Prosecutor Christopher Chikafu said Nyamakura was tipped by his neighbours that his wife was having an extra-marital affair with Chikore and was using her sister’s house as their “base”.
On March 21 at around 4pm, Nyamakura proceeded to the house and got the shock of his life. He allegedly caught the lovebirds in the act, the court heard.
An altercation ensued leading to a fist fight between Nyamakura and Chikore.
It is alleged Chikore managed to escape, with Nyamakura in pursuit while his wife followed behind.
Nyamakura, the court heard, caught up with Chikore. He assaulted him with bricks.
It is the State’s case that Nyamakura grabbed Chikore by the neck and bit him on the left cheek.
Mafunga tried to stop her husband from further attacking Chikore, but the furious husband turned on her and bashed her all over her body.
Mafunga lost three teeth, the court heard.
