A Harare man was Thursday dragged to the Civil Court on allegations of sexually abusing his wife by inserting candles into her private organs.
Pamela Makombera told the court that she was seeking a protection order against her husband who had developed a habit of physically abusing her in the presence of their children.
“This man has been using candles and fingers on my organs and if I fail to comply he accuses me of being a prostitute.
“I have since run away from our matrimonial home but he follows me around texting some abusive messages,” she said.
Responding to the allegations Nicodemous Nyakudya disputed the claims made by his wife saying he could never do such a thing to a woman he was legally married to.
“I have never inserted candles into her organs. Our problem emanated (from) when I saw a text message in her phone that was sent by her boyfriend but we settled the dispute,” he said.
Magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi who presided over the matter granted a protection order which bars Nyakudya from sexually abusing his wife so she can live in peace.
