YOUR TIME IS SHORT-GOOD MORNING

YOUR TIME IS SHORT

life is short
“As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like flower of the field; “the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.” (Psalm 103)
Time is valuable. Some people think they have all the time in the world. Many people waste their time, squandering away their hours, killing time. Some people see time as money. Many people guard their time and many have become stingy with their time. Why does it matter what we do with our time? First, it is because our days are numbered and time is brief.

Second, time is a precious gift that is to be used well and not wasted. And third, we are accountable to God for the way we use our time. God expects us to use our time wisely. People die regardless of age, fame, wealth or apparent physical condition; life will come to an end. Even for the person who is doing a phenomenal work for God’s kingdom, time eventually runs out.

Life is short and we need to make the most of our days. Moses prayed, Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. We need to humbly admit our inability to master time and allow God to teach us how to use it wisely. We need a heart of wisdom if we are going to make the most of our time. We will always need to consult God and humbly seek his wisdom concerning the use of our time. We need God to teach us because our life is continually changed.

Imagine trying to live your life without the light of Christ illuminating the way. Without his light giving direction to our daily walk with him, our feet could easily move out of position and we did never know it. As children of God, Christ light shines on our path and keeps us from walking into sin. We are also to find out what pleases the Lord. Christians should seek God’s will in every situation. Find out what God wants us to do and we get busy doing it. Give your time, talent and gift in serving God, he owns everything.

In reality, each human being does have an expiration date, but it is visible only to God. Not one of us knows exactly when we will die. What is certain is that we will die and we will be held accountable for how we used our time while we were alive. God will judge both the righteous and the wicked. We should continually seek his guidance throughout each day.

Prayer:

1 Oh God of Dr. Chris Okafor, I surrender my time to you, I will work for you throughout the days of my life in Jesus name.

2 In the name of Jesus, I work in obedience, I deploy the hand of God into my life and I command every hand manipulating me to be cut off by fire.

3 Every power claiming ownership on my life, may it be aborted in Jesus name?
