14-y-o girl murdered by armed men
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 14-year-old girl on Woodpecker Avenue in Kingston 11.
Dead is Shanika Phillips of Swallow Road, which is in close proximity to where she was shot.
Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that about 12:05 am, Shanika and a female relative were returning from a shop in the community when armed men, travelling in a motorcar, allegedly pounced on them.
The police said both females ran and the men opened gunfire hitting Shanika. The police were summoned and she was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
