Student killed over wristwatch
Director of Safety and Security in Schools, Assistant Superintendent Coleridge Minto, said investigators are still collecting information on a stabbing incident that resulted in the death of a student at the Edith Dalton James High School yesterday.
Police sources have identified the deceased as Clive Matterson of a Kingston 20 address.
Reports reaching our news team are that about 11 a.m., Matterson, 15, and another grade 10 student got into a verbal altercation that turned physical.

THE WEEKEND STAR gathered that during the tussle a sharp instrument was used to inflict a fatal stab wound.
Matterson was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The student who did the stabbing is also 15 and is now in police custody.
The incident has left the entire school community in shock.
A student who allegedly witnessed the confrontation said: “The one that died bounce the other boy and his watch fell off his hand. Him tell him fi tek it up and dem start argue. Him draw fi a scissors and it drop, then him tek out a ratchet and stab him in him chest.”
Administrators at the school were locked in an emergency meeting yesterday which lasted more three hours.
When THE WEEKEND STAR contacted the principal yesterday afternoon, on two separate occasions, we were told that the meeting was under way and no one else was available to speak with the media.
The Duhaney Park police are investigating.
