A 21 year old woman has been arrested and charged after she allegedly forced a 14 year old girl into prostitution.
Roxan Wynter, who has been charged with human trafficking and procuring s*xual intercourse, appeared before the St. Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday.
Miss Wynter, who was offered bail in the sum of $300,000, is booked to return to Court on May 30.
Police from the Anti-Trafficking in Persons, Intellectual Property Vice Squad launched an investigation which resulted in the rescue of the teenager.
It is alleged that she was taken by Miss Wynter to several places in Kingston and St. Andrew where she was threatened and forced to have s*x with men in return for cash.
Miss Wynter reportedly took the money.
On Saturday March 25, the police carried out an operation on Lorraine Avenue in St. Andrew where Miss Wynter was held.
She was charged four days later.
An additional charge of living off the earnings of prostitution was laid against her.
The police say other persons are being sought for offences committed against the teenager.
