On the heels of Monday’s quadruple killing in Mount Carmel, Hanover another community in the parish has been rocked by a deadly attack by gunmen.
Joel Malcolm, a 71 year-old butcher, was shot dead at his home in Malcolm Heights, Lucea sometime after 7 o’clock Wednesday evening.
Hurfa Johnson, a 63 year-old pensioner, was seriously wounded in the attack.
It’s reported that they were watching television when they heard explosions outside the house.
Gunmen then kicked open a back door and entered. They fired several shots, hitting Miss Johnson and Mr. Malcolm.
The men then set a neighbouring two bedroom house ablaze.
The owner of that house escaped unharmed.
What could be the motive for killing people of that age? The deeds of younger family members? Lord Help Us, this is beyond sad.
These criminals need to be hunted and killed one at a time all over Jamaica. The crime needs to stop we are not Iraq or Afghanistan.
Mi say one time gone, Hanover was the parish wid de least amount of killings, both it and Trelawny. Now, Karamba the cat, dem 2 parishes ya just mek a 360 degree turn pon wi. Dis cancer ting wey name crime a do major damage everywhere inna wi likkle island. Have mercy on us Lord!
