Four people were shot, three of them killed overnight in Philadelphia.
Some time shortly after 11:30pm Wednesday night, police in the 25th district responded to a call on West Westmoreland Street. They found a 34-year-old woman with gunshot wound, unconscious in the driver’s seat of a car.
The car had run into 3 other vehicles before coming to a stop on the 200 block of Westmoreland Street.
The woman was taken to Temple Hospital, where she was pronounced dead just after midnight.
She had a gunshot wound in her left arm — police say the bullet traveled through her arm and into her chest. Based on ballistic evidence on the scene, police say 11 shots were fired from a large-caliber semi automatic weapon.
Police are questioning witnesses and will go through surveillance footage in their investigation.
Around 2:15am in the Grays Ferry neighborhood of Philadelphia, police responded to a shooting call on the 2700 block of Latona Street.
Officers arrived to find two victims with gunshot wounds. One victim was shot in both thighs — the second had gunshot wounds to the head, chest, and arm.
Both victims were 23-year-old men, and both were taken to Presbyterian Hospital.
The man shot multiple times in the legs passed away just after 2:30am.
The shooting victim with head and chest injuries was pronounced dead around 4am.
Police located 9 spent shell casings close to where the bodies were found. Police say it’s likely that the shooter was very close to the victims when they were shot.
Police say they found a gun on one of the victims.
Investigators are trying to figure out exactly what happened. There is no known motive or description of the shooter.
Just before 2am, a man with a gunshot wound to the head drove himself to 12th district police headquarters.
Police say the victim claimed he was approached by two men at 67th Street and Guyer Ave. He said the men ordered him to give up his car, a late-model Mercedes.
According to police, the victim says several shots were fired into his car when he tried to drive away. One of the bullets grazed him in the left temple.
He was taken by police to Presbyterian Hospital where he remains in stable condition.
The three killings overnight bring Philadelphia’s 2015 homicide total to 40.

      1. Yes, the news always use these names greys ferry etc We don’t use those names and haven’t for over 30 years. Latona Street is in South Philly. I don’t see too many WI people in SP.
        67th Guyer is South West Philly and it has a lot of WI people.
        The woman was killed in North Philly completely across the city, like two different worlds.

This story is all over the place, a women killed and then two men killed and then one shot but in stable condition did this happen all the same night… Maybe all incidents was because of car jacking perhaps but hey we will never know the real reason… It’s just crazy how people can kill with no remorse smh this world is getting more dangerous by the minute.

  4. They was just reporting all the shooting that took place for the day. This is why I can’t wait to leave Philly. 40 in less than 60 days ridiculous.
