The Father of 11 year old Akella Lewis, the Prickly Pole student who died last Friday is questioning why his daughter was allowed to leave the school compound without his knowledge.
The Grade 5 student reportedly took sick at the school in the midst of the organizing of a protest and died on her way to hospital.
The child’s biological father Ernie Smith also known as Bamboo, a farmer has shed more light on the incidents leading up to the day young Akella died.
Mr. Smith said his daughter told him days before that she wanted extra money to go on a trip planned for Friday.
….is questioning why his daughter was allowed to leave the school compound without his knowledge.
I thought the child did not leave the school compound? The father is now saying otherwise, so who is lying?
He also said that the child asked for money for a trip so………..
Well, not impossible for her to have taken ill and to also have been scheduled for the trip, since other students were going to the event, one don’t have to cancel the other unless someone is lying. This unfortunate incident should never happen again. Drivers cannot afford to be distracted in a schoolyard. Plus, when multiple buses are around there should be some method in place of ensuring traffic cones are setup, path of traffic setup, and traffic wardens assigned to ensure the safe flow of traffic and the safety of children and teachers in the schoolyard.
