POLICE CHARGED IN BROTHER’S MURDER

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) says it has this morning charged a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) who is accused of fatally shooting his brother in Hatfield, Westmoreland.
Constable Rohan Bucknor, assigned to the Savanna-la-Mar Police Station, is accused of the murderof his brother Mark St Patrick Bernard.
Bucknir appeared before Resident Magistrate Icolyn Reid in the Savanna-la-Mar Resident Magistrate’s Court where he was represented by attorney-at-law Herwin Smart, INDECOM said in a release Friday morning
Following an application made on his behalf, he was offered bail in the sum of $200,000 with one to three sureties. He is to report to the Whithorn Police Station once per week; surrender his travel documents and a stop order placed on him at all ports.

The matter is set for mention on June 24, 2016.
It was reported that Bucknor was visiting family in Hatfield when an argument developed between the brothers in relation to a cellphone SIM card. Bernard was shot in the head as the argument escalated.

His own brother he killed over a sim card, isn’t that something you can buy back why kill your brother over it… It must be more to it maybe he never did like his brother some other things had to conspire between them two for him to shoot him in the head… He could of shoot him in the arm but not to kill him dead… He never did love his brother to have done that, he has to live with taken his brother life and he has to answer to his mother for taking her son for a sim card… Sad situation this…
