The police are reporting the seizure of two firearms in separate incidents on Saturday.
The first gun was seized in St Ann during a police operation in Mammee Bay, in which several premises were searched.
The firearm – a homemade shotgun – was reportedly found hidden behind the door of a shop. No one was arrested in connection with that seizure.
The second firearm – a handgun – was seized by the Gordon Town police in Dublin Castle, St Andrew.
Reports are that about 4:25 pm, a team of officers raided a shop in the community. During the search, a .45 revolver was reportedly found in a refrigerator.
Three men were arrested in connection with the seizure.
