Former Prime Minister Bruce Golding has denied media reports that he’s to take up a job as the first Executive Chairman of the National Housing Trust, NHT.
The print and electronic media have been reporting that the decision to appoint Mr. Golding was made late last week.
The reports claim that Mr. Golding will be responsible for the day to day management of the country’s primary housing agency.
But in a text message sent to our news centre, Mr. Golding refuted the reports.
He says he has not been contacted about any job at the NHT by any member of the Holness administration.
The former Construction Minister says he does not have an interest in any such job at this time.
Mr. Golding says he also does not believe that the creation of an Executive Chairman post is in the best interest of the NHT.
The former Prime Minister is also complaining that despite having his contact information, none of the media houses which have been running the reports, sought to get any confirmation from him.
