POLICE LOOKING FOR FOURTH MAN IN WESTMORELAND ROBBERY

The Westmoreland Police have listed one man identified as Ryan Johnson, who they believe may be able to help with their investigation into a pre-dawn robbery in Sav-la- mar today.

Three alleged robbers were shot dead in the incident.

The Commander for the Area One Police, Assistant Commissioner Winchroy Budhoo says the police are searching for Johnson, who they believe managed to escape during the shootout.

According to reports, security officers from a private company initially went to a supermarket on Great George’s Street after an alarm went off there.

Four cops later responded.

The police say when they arrived on the scene they were greeted with gun fire which they returned.

They say that’s when the three men were shot dead.

They are yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, Budhoo says although some money was stolen from the supermarket, the police recovered some on the scene along with several boxes of cigarettes and other items.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the matter
