A Kingston photographer is facing corruption charges after he allegedly tried to bribe a policeman last month.
Naptanie Davis, 33, was arrested and charged on Friday, July 22 after it is alleged that he approached a policeman and offered him $80,000 in a bid to prevent charges being laid against his brother.
The policeman reported the matter to his superior who referred the case to the Major Ogranised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA). An operation was later conducted resulting in Davis’ arrest.
The accused was offered bail in the sum of $200,000 with one or two sureties when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court last Friday. He is to reappear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Monday September 26.
MOCA did not disclose what charges were to be laid against Davis’ brother.
