The police are expected to lay charges against five people who were held on Friday with an illegal firearm in New Market, St. Elizabeth.
It’s reported that shortly before 1:00 am, members of the St. Elizabeth Operational Support Team stopped a car with three men and two woman aboard.
A gun was reportedly found between the legs of one of the women.
The were all taken into custody.
It was later discovered that one of the men is wanted by the Westmoreland police.
M16 Rifle found
A M16 Rifle containing fourteen cartridges was seized in Llandilo, Westmoreland on Saturday.
No one was arrested.
The police report that shortly after 11:00am at team was on special operations in the community.
The rifle was found in bushes in the vicinity of the Spaulding Playfield.
