AN attempt by gunmen yesterday to carry out an early morning attack on Hayes Police Station in north-west Clarendon was foiled by the quick action of cops there.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reported that a motor vehicle drove on to the compound with three men on-board about 3:00 am. The CCU said two of the men exited the vehicle brandishing firearms, but were fired upon by police who were on duty there.
The men reportedly retreated and escaped in the vehicle.
One round of ammunition was reportedly found by the police.
“No one was injured in the incident as far as we know, and no one was taken into custody,” CCU said.
