WTF AFRICA-HUSBAND GO DISRUPT WIFE FUNERAL

WHAT is it that will make a minister of a pentecostal church (name withheld), from Arodun Kwara State, who was allegedly legally married to his wife 17 years ago, with four children, avoid burial service of his wife, Christianah (other names witheld)?

This was the question on the lips of many who attended the burial of the woman, even as the husband allegedly sent bouncers to prevent her from being buried at her personal property at Oke-Andi Area of Ilorin which was not yet completed before her death.

“If both of them had contracted marriage of convenience without courtship, it would have been a different matter; but they were in courtship for four years before marriage”, said some family members and friends of late Christianah who was said to be a teacher in one of the public schools in Ilorin, Kwara State.

It was reliably gathered that the husband had been making efforts to sell the property of his late wife before she died, the reason he allegedly would not want her buried in the house in order not to discourage prospective buyers when they see grave in the compound.

IT was learnt that members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) who lived in the community overpowered the bouncers who allegedly carried sophisticated weapons and said that the husband of the late woman sent them.

The husband was reportedly seen watching what was going on between the OPC members and the bouncers, before they were handed over to the police.

When contacted, the state police command’s image-maker, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the story, but added that the police could not intervene because it was a family issue.

When a call was put through the husband to react on the allegation, his phone was switched off as at the time of filing in the report.
