Busy came on stage and was upset that the elders before him went over their time. He said he was not trying to disrespect them but his set was cut short and him jus come outa jail and jus a come farrin. Instead of just performing he went on to say that if him neva perform R. Kelly wouldnt perform either and then went into his sit which was well received. Thirty minutes into his set he was removed
Morning Metti, I was there, Busy stated that in his contract with the promoters he should have worked at 5 pm, however a great deal of time was wasted giving awards to the Vetrans. While they were all allowed to complete their full set. He had a point. And he said it very respectfully cos without the Veterans, there would be no Busy. They should have shortened the Rock Steady segement to accommodate the awards ceremony. The crowd was ready and excited for his performance. Them just shut off everything just suh. Roy Wilkins Park Boo resounded through out the park. Busy was there waiting and never get to hit the stage till 7:10, Stephanie Mills couldn’t even perform. Promoters to do better. Your Sources are telling the truth, Busy was there from early. He did state that they should have cut some of the elder artists short because his contract stated he was to perform at 5 and at 7 is when he hit the stage. I, myself wondered why some performers were on stage for an hour and they were not headlining the event. It was very disrespectful of them to cut his mic off in the middle of a song. It looks bad on the Vendors part because it was Busy’s Debut show and many of the other artists perform in the US all the time.
