Edith Dalton James High School in St. Andrew is to receive additional resources from the Ministry of Education to bolster security at the institution.
This comes in the wake of a fatal stabbing at the school on Thursday.
Clive Mattison, 15, was stabbed during an altercation with another male student.
During a visit to the institution Friday morning, Education Minister Ruel Reid announced that the school will be provided with a walk-through scan that will automatically detect metals, as well as closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras and other equipment.
He said the measures will be provided through a grant from GraceKennedy.
SMH, that not one, but two women lost their teenaged sons over a conflict that could have been solved through a discussion, instead of using anger, which turned into murder.
