A district constable is in police custody after he was caught attempting to smuggle ganja into the maximum security Horizon Remand Centre on Christmas Day.
District Constable Standford Miller has been charged with possession of ganja and introducing contraband into a penal institution.
It’s reported that shortly after eleven a.m., Constable Miller, who works at the Horizon Remand Centre, was reporting for duty when he was stopped and searched by a correctional officer. A parcel wrapped in masking tape was reportedly found in his underwear and ganja was said to have been discovered in the package.
District Constable Miller was taken into custody and later charged.
