“But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundation of the prison were shaken…”
Acts 16:25-26
Scientifically, force is an active strength or power in motion. There’re many forces that exist in this world. In fact, the earth itself has been described as a field where many forces exert disparate influences. One of such forces is the gravitational force which pulls down whatsoever that goes up. Another is flood, the force of water in action. It can break loose and threaten to swallow up the expansive landscape and life on earth. Such was the experience we saw recently, when it dealt a terrible damage across this nation. The terrible force of the wind is called tornado. The force of one nuclear weapon could wipe out an entire nation. For instance, the entire world is set on the edge because North Korea has been bent on making and launching nuclear weaponry. In fact, right now it is with the mission to build an intercontinental ballistic missile that can reach the United States mainland. Amongst all these forces, none has the capacity to cause God to shift on His throne, let alone bring Him down to the earth.
The only force that could move the Almighty God from His throne of inapproachable light is the force that holy worship builds and sends up to shake heaven. All through the pages of the Bible, worship has often been used as a dependable weapon and force for victory. Jehoshaphat, Joshua and David, all used this weapon. Paul and Silas couldn’t but deploy this force to shake heaven and earth, and relocate God from His heavenly throne to the prison where they were bound in chains and bars. As the force of their worship shook God’s throne, God was moved, and the earth quaked as God approached to ascertain the source of the force that was shaking His throne. As the earth quaked, the prison bars and chains broke, and melted, and torn asunder. In the same manner, none of your problems can withstand this force – your sickness and affliction can’t but vanish as you open wide your mouth this morning and worship God, through Jesus Christ who has been faithful to us, even this day! Amen.
Liberation Thought: Only the force of holy worship has the power to move God on His throne.
