YOU WILL BE TESTED
“…If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” Matthew 4:3
In the book of Matthew 3:17, God made a profound declaration concerning Jesus Christ: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”. Clearly, this was a divine endorsement of the person of Jesus Christ. Notice, however, that immediately after this profound declaration, the devil showed up in Matthew chapter 4. What is the lesson here?
Each time God speaks concerning you, the devil will show up to know whether you are built on that word of God which is established forever or on the lying tongue of symptoms and signs of the devil. He will come to test whether you believe what God has said or you could be convinced otherwise. So the spirit led Jesus into the wilderness that he may be tempted by the devil. And the Bible tells us that Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights and afterwards he was hungry. Then came the tempter and said “if thou be the son of God ……” Can you imagine that? He had just heard from heaven that He is the son of God. God’s voice in the pronouncement was loud and clear and it was obvious whom God was referring to, yet the devil came to contest the pronouncement.
Without proving anything God declared Him His Son and was delighted in Him. And now, the tempter came and said “if thou be”. Beloved, it is still the same old trick. Always speaking to contradict what God said in order to plant the seed of doubt in you. That devil is a liar. Every contradiction in your life is nullified today. Every lie of the devil is cancelled. Whatever he wants to attach to your life that is not part of you is destroyed. You will not be overtaken by temptation. In the day of your testing, you will not be found wanting. Jesus overcame, you also will overcome. I declare that victory is yours. I bless you in the name of Jesus.
