SERVING GOD WITH A PERFECT HEART- GOOD MORNING

Serving God with a Perfect Heart

Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign…., and he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart.

2 Chronicles 25:1-2

Amaziah was privileged to ascend the throne of Israel in Jerusalem at the young age of twenty-five. He reigned twenty-nine years. The Bible summarized his reign in one phrase: “… but not with a perfect heart.” Amaziah actually did things that are right in the sight of the Lord. He was a good king in the reckoning of God and his nation. If His deeds were approved by God and man, why did it become necessary to add that significant qualification, “…but not with a perfect heart”? In this wise, we can learn from David’s counsel to his son, Solomon: “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts…” (1 Chronicles 28:9). David walked closely with God. He was a man after God’s heart. So, he understood what mattered to God.

Beloved, what is your service in the house of God? It is not enough that you belong to a ministry or service arm in the church or fellowship! Do you render your service with “a perfect heart”? “Perfect heart” is what David referred to as “a loyal heart and a willing mind” in that scripture of 1 Chronicles 28:9. When you serve in the church or fellowship as an usher, preacher, singer, leader, greeter, intercessor or any other office, what is the disposition of your heart in service? Your heart in service determines the acceptability of your service in God’s mark-sheet. God does not want us to do just the right things in service; He wants us to serve with a perfect heart. Beloved, let the motto of your service to God and humanity always read: Service with a Perfect Heart.

Liberation Thought: The essence of life is to serve God being who you are.

Prayer:

Oh Lord let my heart be correct in service. Create in me a new heart and renew the right Spirit within me in Jesus mighty name
I break free from every form of imperfect heart in Jesus name
Holy Spirit open my eyes and show me areas that I’m serving the Lord imperfectly. Correct me in your love Oh Lord and deliver me
